“One doesn’t discover new lands without consenting to lose sight of the shore for a very long time.”
André Gide
In grade school, I built paper maché models of the Grand Canyon and choreographed music videos.
In middle school, I edited my own neighborhood newspaper and produced our school’s yearbook.
In junior high, I project managed my group work and learned to do a proper toe-touch.
In high school, I illustrated our cheerleading tee shirts, 10 foot high posters, and a colouring book.
I enjoy challenges, learning to do what I am not naturally talented at doing. This includes things like yoga, cooking, and gardening. I do not have a green thumb.
I love to explore new places. Traveling is one of the great loves of my life. I recently bought a vintage map to post on my wall and plan to use it to map out where I’ve been and where I’d like to go.
I do puzzles in my free time and play video games. My favorites are jigsaw puzzles, Pop Cap’s Peggle and Plants v. Zombies, sudoku, and Double Fine’s Costume Quest. I am easily lost in a good game.
I adore my family. I have siblings who live in Denver and Tuscaloosa, and the rest of my family resides by a beautiful lake in Alabama. This handsome fellow is pretty great too.
I began coding HTML as an escapist hobby to maintain sanity throughout my collegiate studies. In 2006, I earned a Master of Arts. Afterward, I lived in Hawai’i for a short while, exploring every beach I could find and landed in the beautiful Pacific Northwest in 2008.
I write words here, and I often publish random tidbits from my day, as well as glimpses of my work in progress.
Please say hello.
